Job Title: Arts Curator Intern 

Term: 18 weeks (April 28 – August 31, 2026) 

Wage: $22.00/hour (18 hours/week)

About Trinity Square Video

Trinity Square Video is a charitable media arts organization located in the heart of Toronto’s arts district. We support artists working in film, video, and digital media through a robust program of exhibitions, residencies, screenings, and public events. Located in the historic 401 Richmond building, we are a hub for contemporary media arts and culture.

The Role: Trinity Square Video is seeking an Arts Curator Intern to support our summer programming. This is an entry-level learning opportunity designed for a student interested in curatorial practice and gallery operations. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Operating Manager to ensure the gallery is a welcoming and professional space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibition Support: Assist with research on artists and artworks, and help prepare exhibition materials like labels and wall text.
  • Artist Coordination: Support communications with artists, including scheduling meetings and confirming installation details.
  • Installation: Assist with the physical setup and de-installation of gallery exhibitions under professional guidance.
  • Gallery Operations: Support public programs (openings, screenings, talks) and welcome visitors during gallery hours.
  • Administration: Assist with exhibition documentation, filing, and basic tracking of gallery attendance.

Program Eligibility (Young Canada Works):

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada.
  • Note: Non-Canadians on temporary work visas or awaiting PR status are not eligible.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (possess a valid Social Insurance Number).
  • Must be between 16 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
  • Must be a high school, college, CEGEP, or university student. Must intend to return to full-time studies in the next academic semester.
  • Priority will be given to students who have not previously participated in the YCWHO employment program.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be registered in the YCW online candidate inventory.
  • Must be highly reliable and punctual.
  • Must be capable of managing gallery opening and closing procedures independently.
  • Must demonstrate a strong interest in media arts and gallery management. Preferred fields of study include Visual Arts, Media Arts, Art History, Curatorial/Cultural Studies, or Arts Administration.
  • Comfortable with basic digital tools like email, shared documents (Google Workspace), and calendars
  • Strong organizational habits, professional communication skills, and an interest in working within a collaborative team.
