Alysha Rocca
Gallery & Administrative Assistant
Alysha Rocca is an emerging artist with a BFA from OCAD University. Working with the theme of sustainability has challenged the way she approaches creation. In her artistic practice, she weaves together the threads of feminism and environmental consciousness, crafting a narrative of resilience and empowerment through recycled materials. Although she does work with many mediums including oil and acrylic paint, she is drawn to the tactile quality of fabrics and fibers. Each piece Alysha creates is not only a curious adventure but also a statement of solidarity with the feminist movement and a commitment to sustainability. By repurposing discarded materials, she challenges the notion of disposability that pervades our consumer culture, advocating for a more mindful approach to consumption and waste. As she continues to work within a sustainable mindset, she hopes to evoke others to consider the ways they can live sustainably.
